Product and Brand Management

It’s official. I love every single module I am doing this semester.

I had my very first lesson of Product & Brand Management (PBM) on Wednesday taught by Ms Tamaki Tanaka.  PBM as you can probably imagine, is all about the details of managing a brand.  The first lesson was about the broader overview of the subject with a focus in coming up with a marketing plan.  The second lesson that I took on Friday dived straight into evaluating a product category’s attractiveness for a company looking to enter a given market.  How cool is that?!

What makes all these lessons come alive is the fact that we have projects that are very relevant to what the module is about. All too often, Profs come up with projects that do too little to help further the student’s understanding of the subject at hand. I feel though, that Ms Tanaka nailed it right on the head. Although she is known to be really strict, I am really looking forward to learning more!

It’s really the same for Consumer Cultural Theory, the other marketing module that I am taking. Professor Tambyah has great passion for what she teaches, and it’s exciting to see what we are going to produce for the upcoming project.

Looks like it’s going to be a great semester for me after all!
