It has been a long time since I last designed anything. More than 9 months, to be exact.

Since I started work, I have not managed to find enough time to carry on this interest of mine.  At the same time, there was intentional effort in distancing myself from design.  I reasoned that since this was not going to be a key focus in my career, and also since I am honestly not the best or even among the very good out there, I might as well just not do it at all.

Stepping into Data Science.

This evening, I attended my first class in iDA’s MOOC Pilot for Data Sciences & Analytics Training at the National Design Centre.  I had first learnt of this pilot when I was considering a Masters in Business Analytics at NUS Business School and found out through Google that IDA was funding initiatives in Singapore to get people to pick up analytics.

Resolutions for 2015.

We are 9 days into the new year, and I still cannot believe we are already in 2015! The past year had gone by like a whirlwind, with little time to stop to think much about what I was doing, much less write about it.

With that said, I want to take this time as a chance to reflect on the past year and think about what I hope to achieve in the year ahead. It might be cliché, and there might be a growing movement of people against making new year resolutions because they are too hipster for their own good, but in my opinion, any reflection at all is better than none!
